WA Kimberley– East of Broome: 2 Day Escorted Tour with Kimberley Dreamtime Adventure Tours

Day 1: Broome to Mount Anderson

An early morning pick up at 6:45am from your accommodation in Broome or Cable Beach and you’ll be on your way to a tour through Kimberley cattle country crossing the Fitzroy River. Along the way you will hear many interesting stories about the local history, culture, flora and fauna.

Mt Anderson is a small Aboriginal community with an exceptionally welcoming spirit, offering you a chance to immerse yourself in all aspects of traditional life in this amazing, natural environment. On arrival, one of the first activities is a 1.5 hour camel trek guided by one of the community elders, aimed at introducing you to wild bush foods, tracking skills and bush medicine.

Travel to a local rock hole and try your hand fishing for Cherabyn (local freshwater prawns), absorbing the glowing rock formations and just enjoying time with the kids from the community, returning to a scrumptious camp fire BBQ dinner. At the end of your day be mesmerised by the clarity of the Southern Sky as you sleep under the stars in insect proof domes and comfortable swags.

Day 2: Mt Anderson to Broome

Rise to a lovely cooked breakfast before a short walk to the historic Mount Anderson shearing shed where you’ll tour Mount Anderson Station and hear all about its pioneering history.

Hike with local Aboriginal guides to an ancient living site on top of the Grant Ranges and enjoy spectacular views, rock art, and rock carvings in stunning natural settings. After lunch travel to Jarlmadangah Community Cultural Centre to learn about the local Aboriginal history, culture, skin groups, tools, weapons and art, followed by a bus tour of Jarlmadangah community.

On the way back to Broome, enjoy billy tea, damper and Dreamtime stories before the tour ends in Broome at around 6:30pm.
