Five German wholesalers, a journalist and a cinematographer were treated to a taste of some of the amazing Aboriginal tourism experiences on offer by Indigenous Tourism Champions in the Northern Territory on a unique post ATE 2012 familiarisation. The representatives from BOTG, Australian Pacific Travel Service, Boomerang Reisen, Travel Essence and Australia Travelteam joined Tourism Australia on an unforgettable journey in the Top End. Highlights included a trip out to Litchfield National Park with Tess Atie, owner and operator of Northern Territory Indigenous Tours.

After enjoying an overnight stay at Wildman Wilderness Lodge on the Mary River Wetlands area, day two was spent touring the magnificent Kakadu National Park. From Kakadu to Mt Borradaile, they stayed overnight at Davidson’s Arnhemland Safaris. Mt Borradaile is a registered sacred site, and one of the most culturally significant places in northern Australia. Having witnessed Arnhemland’s diverse ecosystems, amazing rock art and spectacular landscapes, it was time to fly back to Darwin.

Footage from the famil will soon be available to view at www.aboriginaltourism.australia.com.
